Hey, Bert!

The physical keyboard is necessary for some ssh sessions. It's hard to remote manage a Linux box from the command line with the onscreen keyboard. :) Not impossible--just more difficult.

The GMail integration is fantastic, along with Google Reader and the other Google tools. This, for me, is what makes Android so compelling. Believe or not, the Google Maps coverage in Ho Chi Minh City is phenomenal. No mean feat for a city that grows organically.

The Droid X may solve performance issues, but I shudder at the size. It's a little too big for me and my pockets. Maybe the Droid 2...

Cheers, and remember me at Pizza Port! Host a glass of that home grown root beer for me!

Hi chris:

I love my Droid, but I hate the physical keyboard. I never use it.

I love the gmail integration and the google voice integration.

I'm thinking about a DroidX because some things are slow with 1600 contacts.

I have an app crash occasionally, but my phone has never rebooted by itself. I reboot it every month or so.

The key for me was getting a killer utility to scrub and sync contacts from my Mac to google. It is called spanning sync, and it rocks.

Cheers,

Bert
